Accelerated Mineral Carbonation for CO₂ Storage in Construction Products

Accelerated Mineral Carbonation for CO₂ Storage in Construction Products

The ACCEL project focuses on the development of accelerated mineral carbonation of secondary raw materials for permanent CO₂ storage and their application in construction products. The project explores how underutilised materials can be transformed through carbonation into secondary raw materials for products with a lower carbon footprint.

Indeloop participates in the project as an industrial partner, providing solid residue generated by the LOOPER process for characterisation, testing and the development of carbonation processes. The project also investigates the conditions required to transfer the process towards industrial application and to incorporate carbonated materials into construction products.

6 Partners

A consortium bringing together research institutions, construction material producers and industrial partners to develop the full value chain, from secondary raw materials and accelerated mineral carbonation to their application in construction products.
