Accelerated Mineral Carbonisation for Net-Zero Construction Products

Accelerated Mineral Carbonisation for Net-Zero Construction Products

ACCEL is a scientific and research project led by the University of Zagreb — Faculty of Civil Engineering. Its objective is to develop and demonstrate technology for accelerated mineral carbonisation, enabling the permanent binding of CO₂ within secondary raw materials and the development of at least two net-zero construction products.

Indeloop’s Role

Indeloop’s contribution is grounded in our proprietary thermochemical process for organic waste materials. The biochar by-product will be systematically valorised through the ACCEL project.

The Approach

Material characterisation → lab-scale product development → semi-industrial replication with industrial partners such as Beton Lučko.

Life-Cycle Assessment

An LCA will quantitatively determine the CO₂-emission reductions achieved through permanent storage of by-products in construction materials.

4 Partners

Academic and industrial partners driving CO₂ storage in construction.
