Mobile Waste Management Gasification Solution

Mobile Waste Management Gasification Solution

The Mobile Waste Management Gasification Solution (MWMGS) is the project under which Indeloop, with the co-funding support of Innovation Norway, designed, engineered and built the first operational pilot plant for the thermochemical conversion of textile waste into syngas and solid carbon residues.

The textile industry generates one of the largest non-recyclable waste streams in Europe. The MWMGS project demonstrated that the LOOPER’s gasification pathway can take this stream directly, without prior fibre separation, and convert it into a hydrogen-rich gas suitable for downstream energy or chemical use.

Why It Matters

The MWMGS pilot was the first physical proof point for the entire LOOPER programme. Every subsequent project — S2H2, AshCycle, INDY, SENTINEL — builds on the engineering, operational know-how, and process data generated through MWMGS.
